Gershon Efficiency Agenda
The efficiency agenda requires each local authority to achieve efficiency gains of 2.5% per year over three years. The objective is to identify gains without compromising public services and to aim to better public service through improving efficiency and productivity.
These gains can be achieved by:
- Reduction of manual tasks
- Reduction of duplicated efforts (between departments)
- Shared information, easily accessible to all relevant users
- Automated processes leading to valuable time and cost savings
- Greater productivity from available resources
This applies to all parts of the organisation.
CDC Respond software offers a fully integrated ‘corporate level’ system built around the individual desired efficiency gains for each local authority and directorate.
- Scanning of documents saves time and increases productivity.
- Shared data such as query or complaint details, progress or action plans can be easily retrieved in instances where a customer needs updating.
- Improved services are offered to customers who can choose from a variety of methods to contact the authority, phone, web or walk in. A user-friendly capture mechanism is provided for this purpose, which enables quick and efficient resolution of complaints and higher rates of customer satisfaction.
This all complies with the efficiency directive to improve customer service levels whilst achieving efficiency gains through sustainable increases in productivity.
